This is such a heartfelt and straightforward story of a mom navigating life with a son with special needs. You can easily put yourself in Bea’s shoes and join with her around similar parenting experiences. I love her stories AND the helpful tips at the end of each chapter. It is very holistic and an excellent starting point for parents of a newly diagnosed child with special needs!

it was amazing
I personally know the author! This book is an excellent resource for parents and teachers of students on the autism spectrum. As a middle school teacher, I have had the privilege of teaching a variety of neurodivergent students throughout my career. Moise's book gives information from both a parenting and a professional point of view.
5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully written insight and guide for parents with a child on the spectrum.
I took my time with this book. I had to. I connected so much with the author, I frequently paused to highlight and re-read. It’s very relatable for parents with a child on the spectrum and for parents of siblings to a child on the spectrum. Additionally, it’s just a darn good read. I’ve been blessed to connect to other parents like me and I’m recommending and/or gifting this book when I can.

I Loved this book! I felt so validated! My daughter on the spectrum is now 22 . I wish I had Bea's book a long time ago. There were only a couple of things we did differently in raising our daughter on the spectrum. And despite feeling so validated by the book, I reflected on the long, endless journey and toll it has taken on me as a working mother and mother to two other children. I was reminded in this book of things I'd done for her, some of which I'd forgotten.
I realized that as a parent of a child on the spectrum, I can do everything right or perfectly, and it is never going to be perfect, right or easy. It's completely exhausting and it's a long, challenging journey juggling multiple responsibilities, including my self-care so I can muster the ability to continue down the path. I am so grateful this book was written and I highly recommend it to anyone raising a child on the spectrum. My favorite part was the summary at the end of each chapter "Bea's Tips." Happy Reading
Bea shares an honest description of her son’s obstacles as a neurodivergent child, plus the obstacles that she had (and has) as well as those of her husband and daughter. At the end of each chapter, the reader will find a summary of key takeaway points. Additionally, Bea is a family therapist with a specialty in neurodivergence. In buying this book, the reader will feel like they have an empathetic friend and professional with them at all times. I took notes and will use some of Bea’s tips in the future because they truly are valuable.
